Over Easter weekend the 15-South Bay team, coached by Jack Mergenthaler earned a bid in the USA division. This is the second time that the 15-SB team has qualified as they previously earned and American division bid in the SCVA qualifier. Check out the following blurb by coach Mergenthaler on the teams second bid of the season:
Our girls played great all tournament, but especially the last day. We had our quarterfinal match go 3 against madfrog and it was very exciting and intense. Madfrog had a very loud crowd and our girls were able to handle it. We won 18-16 in the third. Our semifinal match also went three. We were down 14-12 and came back to win 16-14. We battled through a lot of injuries and sickness on the weekend and made it to the finals to get the bid. Everyone on the team played well and contributed.
